Taking your dog out for the first time.
‘Right, that sidecar is attached to my bike. Now I'm going to take my dog for a ride!’
That is an understandable thought, but it is not wise. Let your dog get used to the bicycle sidecar first.
For example, you can place the sidecar without the wheel attached in the room as a kind of crate. Once your dog can easily get in and out of the sidecar and stays in it (or lies down), you can attach the wheel and attach the sidecar to your bicycle. Let your dog get used to it again without moving the sidecar. Only when that goes well can you start cycling a few metres for the first time. Build it up slowly. Always use the attachment eye in the sidecar to secure your dog.
